WBDA – breaking down barriers for women in business
Thinking of starting a business, or are you are some stage of your business development? Looking for new ways of working and living? Have you got what it takes to be your own boss? Need some help getting there? WBDA can give you that helping hand along the road to success whatever stage you are at. If you are based in the West Midlands and are involved in female enterprise then there's something that we can offer you!
Women have always played an important role in enterprise in the UK, but often within ‘invisible’ support roles. Less than 12% of UK businesses are wholly owned by women, compared with 44% owned by men1 and, despite considerable social and cultural change in the UK, the proportion of women starting and running their own businesses still lags behind much of the rest of the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Norway and most of the Far East and South America2.

Encouraging and enabling women into business is vitally important for the health of our economy, the vibrancy of our business culture, and for the pride and self-esteem of women. But we know that many women encounter more and often different barriers compared to men when starting an enterprise and growing their business.
That’s where WBDA comes in! We’re here to help you take control of your life by providing the specific support and advice you need to start and sustain your own business. Our website tells you all about us and the free advice and training services that we offer both face-to-face and online. Click on the links on the left hand side menu to find out more! If you think we could help you, don’t hesitate to call us.
