My name is Beryl Atkins and I am a cosmetic consultant for cosmetic surgery and have been for some time.
Becoming my own boss
My previous employment, as a cosmetic consultant, was more a Sales Target environment and wanting to stay focused on Patient Care I decided to go at it alone and become my own boss.
I was given the Women’s Business Development Agency’s contact details through the Princes Trust and gave them a call because I really needed advice on finance for the business and needed a real confidence boost! 
I was booked in to see Michelle Grindley, my business advisor, who offered me help with how to put a business plan together and she booked me onto WBDA’s free business workshops. Michelle has given me a great deal of support and always provides a friendly, approachable service!
Now, thanks to my business advice sessions, I am more aware of business finance, the downsides and pitfalls, and I have become more confident that I can run my own business and be my own boss.
My business is now ready to go and the support from WBDA has been invaluable – thank you!
